There is a tale about a doctor who was guiloutined in france - after decapitation he blinked his eyes for about 15 seconds before motion stopped. Unfortunately that seems to be a myth. Most of the time it is assumed that the shock of the blade knocks the head unconcious.

However, the link below includes a story which does provide some modern evidence for survival after beheading, so it is possible that a bodyless head could observe its body as it is toppling to the ground. Although it wouldn't be able to report back on the view.

Nobody knows. The only way to find out would be to experience it for yourself, since any person that this has happened to is unable to answer the question for us (due to a lack of connection between their lungs and their mouth).

the light will reach the retina, and the nerves should still be carrying signals to the brain, so yes he should still be seeing until the fall in blood pressure and lack of oxygen supply prevents the brain from working.

Probably. They said that you are concious for another 3 seconds. There is a story that Mary Stuart was screaming for another 30 seconds.

Yes the signal would reach the brain, but it could not be interpreted by it. Also, why do you want to know this?
