Hey,
Yes, the moon does have a major effect on the tides. The Earth and the moon have a large gravitational attraction which causes the side of Earth which faces the moon to sort of bulge. But it attracts the water more. Therefore the side facing the moon will have high tides. Also, due to the moon also attracting Earth itself, the other side will also have high tides becase Earth is pulled away from the water on the other sides. All other parts of the Earth will experience low tides. Another interesting fact, the moon always shows the same face to Earth due to this tidal effect. It has become tidally locked to Earth due to the large gravitational attraction imparted on it by Earth.

The moon is the cause for tides. The sun is far enough away so that the gravity felt at the surface of the Earth from it is approximately the same on "both" sides of Earth. The moon, however, is much closer, so the surface of Earth closer to the moon feels more of its gravity than the "other side."

Tides on earth are the directly caused by the moon.

The tidal force of the moon is twice that of the Sun. So without the moon, there would probably still be tides but not as signicantly.

Both the sun and moon cause Earth's tides. Without the moon there would still be tides because of the sun's gravity, but they would be less pronounced.

It affects the tide. Also, when it is on the other side of the earth, it affects the tide. It also affects long shafts for impellers on pumps. I know because I couldn't understand why this pump wouldn't run right twice a month. I finally put two and two together.

Yes. The moon acts like a magnet and since the moon is always in different places it always makes the tide different. If there was no moon I think I heard the water would go plain crazy or something.

Yes.

Or to put it another way no, if there was no moon it would not affect the sea on earth (how could it?). Because there is a moon it does affect the sea on earth.

Yes. the moon also affect the living organisms on Earth, especially sex. Female human have menstrual phases which has fertile phase on 15th day of the month - the full moon. Same as other animals who mate under full moon.

If there were no moon, the seas would be pulled by the gravitational fields of other planets. There would be a tide, but it would be very much diminished
