I suspect the sky would not fall, the U.S. would stay strong, and you would not see a change at all...

It has shown that gay marriages does not have nay affect upon the traditional marriages. I agree that one needs to look at the state of traditional marriages an why they do not work. It is not the duty of congress to amend the Constitution on the issue of marriage.

As we all know, gays who get married give off homo-rays which actually breaks down heterosexual marriages and according to Pat Robertson, it could cause time to actually move forward more quickly--instead of backwards which is the con preference. Clearly, we cannot let that happen. Progress must be stopped and we all need to go back to the good times...tradition values of the past. Like in the dark ages. When everyone just believed what they were told to...ahh good times.

Well, that's a rather pointless question, don't you think?

Just like if you asked me how MY life would be affected if 20 skinheads broke into your house and gangraped your family. My life wouldn't be affected by that, either, so it's really a cheap rhetorical question.

Now, an intelligent question on homosexual marriage would be: Are there any long-term negative effects of allowing homosexuals to marry?

And an intelligent answer would indicate that in countries that have allowed same sex marriage in Europe - Netherlands and one of the Scandanavian countries - they have found that allowing homosexual marriage had a corresponding negative effect on normal marriage - with significantly reduced marriage rates and higher rates of single parenthood.

So, if we act rationally, rather than emotionally, we see that there are few, if any, benefits for society to gain by allowing homosexual marriage, and potentially huge detriments by accelerating the demise of traditional marriage.

There is a reason that even blue states like Michigan and Oregon overwhelmingly passed Amendments to define marriage as one man and one woman.

Look around the world. There are only a handful of countries that allow/recognize gay marriage. The myth that it is America being backwards is wrong. The majority of the world says gay marriage is a bad idea. Do some research-less than 10 countries around the world allow gay marriage....maybe thats because the rest of the world realizes its a destructive lifestyle and morally wrong.

im a republican and i see no problem with gay marriage. my family is totally against it, tho. they are all republicans, as far as i know and they think that God made us the way He envisioned Himself, not gay. i think that no matter what the people feel, they need to just get over the fact that people in the US are not all the same way. they say that we are a melting pot economy, but the way we are getting described is a salad bowl. i dont get it.

I'm not a republican, but either way life would change because if we do allow gay marriage, it means we consent to their way of life and agree with them, or at least respect their decisions. It should totally happen, then people would be more open to new things and wouldn't be so prejudice. homophobia is racism

Totally grossed out. Liberalism has sought to take every Judeo-Christian Western idea and value and turn them inside out and upside down. Western Culture and values have brought the world to the economic, technological, and medical high point we live at today. Liberalism wants to impose by force and coercion its values like Gay Marriage on us to twist and distort this civilization and thus tear it apart.

If a civilization is not growing in population and stregthening in its core concepts, it will fall apart. This Gay Marriage idea is anti-West, or at least conrta-West----designed as part of the whole "political correctness" 1984 style mentality of Liberalism.

If the West fails, Islam stands to gain. They stone gays to death. Try that on for your alternative.

Its a matter of principals, our forefathers set down a way of life here in the US. since the 1940s when I forgot the presidents name that took the bible out of the classroom. the US has been on a downward spiral ever since. most collage grades including myself could not pass a 5Th grade test of the eras before That date. look it up and try by 5th grade most students were learning Latin in the classroom now it Spanish because we bent a little from our original founders. and look at us now. bible says its wrong period and that is were we are making our mistakes. the further we drift from the truth or bend it to fit our own needs the further in the sewer this country falls. Good Luck and God Bless

You may very well be right about all you say! I happen to believe that marriage is a holy bond between a man and a woman. What I don't understand is why the gay community has to be so "IN OUR FACE" about their issues. If they toned it all down and kept quiet, they would probably have a better chance!

There wouldn't be a change except that the republicans would lose some of their control. Thats a lot of what it comes down to, they wish to have everyone under their thumb, believing in what they believe. Whether it be gay marriage, abortion, whatever, its all a matter of control.
