I don't think there is any question that the Yankees are the most talented and deepest lineup in baseball. Whether they win the whole ball of wax remains to be seen. Many variables go into each season and it takes a certain degree of luck as well as talent to win a championship. Only time will tell.

In the American League, the Tigers. Coming from Michigan, I've seen every game televised on TV and then-some by going to games, and I've seen them evolve. They're just going to get better. They did pretty terrible the second half of last season, but they came through and made the wild card, and showed the American League who's boss. The Tigers will win the AL Pennant, most likely, unless they get some injuries. I'll say they'll go 99-63 this year.
In the National League, I like the Cubs, or the Mets. The Cubs have dissapointed fans for the past few years, and with the pick-up of Alfonso Soriano, the team is going to get some good motivation. I think the Mets have a chance of doing well this year, too. They're starting rotation is flawed by injuries, but they have what I think is the best hitting team is the Nation al League. They have also added Moises Alou to an already phenomenal batting line-up. I think the Mets will do great hitting-wise, but we'll have to see how they do pitching-wise. I think the cubs will go 83-79, or something along those lines. I don't think they'll do too great by any means, seeing as how the chances of them bursting onto the scene so quickly won't be likely. I call the Cubs as more the comeback team of the year, I don't think they're really going to do too great - or even make the play-offs. I think the Mets will have a record of 95-67, the same record the Tigers had last year. The Mets are better with Alou, but with injured pitchers, they aren't going to be as good as they could be if they're whole line-up was healthy.
Who will win the World Series? This will probably be obvious, since I'm a Tiger fan, but I'd say the Detroit Tigers. They surprised everyone last year, ( including me ) but with Gary Sheffield on their team now, they will be a better hitting lineup then ever before. They don't neccesarilly have the speed, but they have power and contact hitters, a great starting rotation, ( Maroth will finally be back in the rotation ) and a great bull-pen, the Tigers are going to go far this year, no doubt. Al-beit they are in the AL Central, what I think is the toughest division of them all in the MLB, they reign supreme over the White Sox, Twins, and Indians. While those three teams have problems with injuries, or a lack-off something, the Tigers are almost perfectly balanced throughout their line-up. I think the AL Central will look something like this:
1.) Tigers ( 99-63 ) - Better year than last.
2.) Indians ( 85-77 ) - They have the hitting - but the bullpen?
3.) White Sox ( 82-80 ) - Will be about average in '07.
4.) Twins ( 79-83 ) - Pitching isn't going to be too great.
5.) Royals ( 64-98 ) - Still a good 10-15 years from competing.
Okay, I'm done. :]

Though Cardinals, Cubs, Yankees, Dodgers are pretty strong, I'll bet on my fave: the NEW YORK METS.They got like everything: base stealer, hitter, home run slugger, great pitchers, outstanding bullpen, teamwork, potential, 5 all-stars, fans, and a manager who cares.I think they can get a 103-59 record if no injury will plague the Mets. I also believe they're gonna rock the playoffs and not lose decisive games in the last innings (like Molina's HR on the 9th inning of last season's NLCS Game7).

I believe that the New York Yankees will have the best record on the AL side and the Chicago Cubs on the NL side.
The New York Yankees have some of the best players in the MLB. A-Rod, who is a 2-time AL MVP, Jason Giambi, another 2-time MVP, Clutchy DE-REK JE-TER! and good and old Bobby Abreu. They've got depth at every position, and my guess is that they go 99-63.
The Chicago Cubs have just gone on a shopping spree in this offseason. They've gotten better pitching, better steals, better offense, and now they too have depth at every position. Plus they've still got their former best, Aramis Ramirez and Carlos Zambrano. Another note is now they actually have a Manager who cares. Look expectingly a 102-60

I’ll go with the Phillies. They have the best right side of the infield in baseball (Howard & Utley) the best 6 starters in baseball (Myers, Hamels, Garcia, Eaton, Lieber, and Moyer), and all-star closer in Tom Gordon (hey he was an all-star last year). I think their only weakness is middle relief, and maybe third. If Burrell, has a year he is capable of having watch out, cause that 3-4-5 will be the best in baseball.

They Yankees until proven otherwise.
The one team that could have a better year is the Dodgers. The Dodgers could really post a great record this year in their division.
