If I understand your question correctly I'd say that, generally speaking, the higher an individual is on the passion continuum the more likely it will be that the individual will make decisions on an emotional basis. As emotions are very transient, there is a very high probability that major life decisions will be impulsive decisions, based on the emotions of the moment. As these emotions change that individual may soon regret selling the house and buying the motorhome, quitting their job as a college professor to try their hand at ranching, etc. I'm not saying that these decisions are wrong ( in fact making changes like this can be life altering in very positive ways.) As in all things, a balance between passion and a well-thoughout plan of action (weighing the positives and negatives) is probably the best way to go. In general, highly passionate individuals are just not as likely to weigh both sides of the issue.

Getting burned by others who would just as soon take advantage of someone who is overly kind and passionate. Being too passionate tends to open ourselves up to more personal attacks. But, having passion about someone or something is like having a purpose for caring and to show compassion.

Why do you think there's a negative side of being passionate? The only thing I can really think of is if we are so passionate about something it may interfere with us focusing on something that may have more importance. Maybe you mean a "compassionate" person - now that's a whole different ballgame!

Passionate people tend to be very intense also. They feel things deeper. love deeper and tend to almost take on other peoples feelings. Passionate people are hard workers sometimes to the extreme and they also tend to be perfectionists when it comes to their job. Sometimes these can be negatives as their emotions get overloaded and it can cause a lot of stress.

If a person is too passionate about something, someone, etc... they may fail to see the the situation, person, etc... objectively.
