I will be32 weeks pregnant on thursday, when i went to use the bathroom yesterday, i had a sticky gel like susbstance in my underwear. I'm not trying to be gross but could that be discharge builtup or is that my mucus plug. it was a cloudy color.

The mucous plug looks like different things for different women. It really depends upon how it presents itself. . For some women, it is a gradual process. If your plug comes bit by bit, you may just notice a gradual increase in clear discharge when you visit the bathroom. It may be obvious, or it could be so slight that you don't even notice it.
However, if much of it comes out all at once, it is really hard to miss. It will look like a large chunk of stretchy clear mucous, sometimes with a bit of blood around the edges. Losing it all at once may mean your cervix has made a sudden change. This does not necessarily mean that you will go right into labor. You may, or you may not. It is possible to lose your plug and still stay pregnant for many days, but seeing it definitely means your cervix is making changes in a positive direction.
If you think you may have lost your mucous plus, definitely tell your doula, midwife or obstetrician.

Sounds to me like discharge, mucus plugs are normally clearish with pink/brown (blood) mixed in. But since it's cloudy it is most likely discharge.... or an infection, I'd just watch the next few days and see if it gets better or not to check for infection.

I think that's just discharge... I get that a lot. I have also lost my mucus plug many times since I went into early labor at 26 weeks (now 36) and it was yellow in color and snotty looking (no blood in it).

if it was a good bit it could be. sometimes there is a little blood in it. that could mean you are beginning to dilate, but dont freak. both my babies i had the same thing happen. you could be 1-2 cm dilated from now til due date or you could go sooner. your body is getting ready for the next step. keep an eye on it and let your doc know. good luck and early congrats!

it could be either but the plug usualy has blood in it and is like a clump that sticks 2gether
