I agree. So am I eversince I was a kid I am really not fond of reading it is so boring but disappoints me when I am getting older because through I realized reading helps you sustain, broaden your knowledge in vocabulary. haay.

Reading is not boring. Some people just are not interested in it, then it can be boring. You may also be reading a boring topic that you have no interest in. It all depends on the person. If you don't like sitting there you should check out the books on tape or CD. You may find them more interesting and you get to have said you read the book without taking time out from your regular scheduel.

Maybe it's because you don't read wholeheartedly. What I mean is, you have to savor each and every word as this will help you build what you are reading in your mind. Just let your imagination flow and you will enjoy it. When I read, form the characters in my mind, feel their emotions and they will seem 'real' this way. I hope you wont find it boring in the future because it is a great way to escape the world and go into a world of your own

You are probably reading the wrong books! Find something you are interested in. If you like facts and figures, then get a non-fiction book. The boys here are reading all sorts of books about fish and fishing just now. My dd prefers books such as those by Jane Austen, and I just love reading so much that only DH Lawrence has proven unreadable so far!

If you find reading boring, you should make a game out of it or read something that really interests you. You could try books on tape instead.

WHAT?!?!?!? Reading is boring? I think that you find reading boring because you don't know how to read and take your imagination to places that you can't go in this world. Give it another try. Reading is so much fun and such a great way to relax.

Compulsory or forced anything is destined to be boring because it is a chore rather than a challenge. Once you have acquired the rudimentary skills, you can choose what you will read. Without the ability to read, you will only learn what "they" wish you to know.

it is the subject matter which is boring, not the ability to read.
if you read because you have to, that's one thing, but if you read for pleasure, it can be very entertaining as well as enlightening, depending on the subject you are rewading about.
i enjoy many forms of reading, some for learning, but most are for pleasure and escapism into another world where things are different than the day to day grind of work, sleep, more work, etc.
