I love Sofia Coppola works, and I'm just curious if anybody has seen Marie Antoinette. What do you think about the movie?

I loved it. I am a big fan of Kirstin Dunst and the movie was well written with costumes to die for. I like that the movie did not end showing her being beheaded. We all know how her life ended. I think it made the story of her life stronger to end it like they did. They wanted to show her life and keep her life the focus. Showing her death would have taken away from this. Great movie.

I too love how Sofia Coppola works her magic onto the film and yes I have seen "Marie Antoinette". To me she kept to the true story of Marie and King Louis XVI(played by Kirsten Dunst and Jason Schwartzman). I think when you do make a film about a person/persons or an event/events of history it should be about that person/persons or event/envents and she tells it well in this movie, except for the affair that Marie supposedly had with Count Axel von Fersen (Jamie Dornan), there was no evidence that Marie and the Count ever had an affair so it was deemed inconclusive, also some believe that the son she had was the Count's and not Louis' but this however was inconclusive also.

All in all I give the movie 5 stars for keeping to the facts.

I love anything about Marie Antoinette so i was so excited to see the movie. However i thought it was too long and drawn out. They would have a scene much longer than it needed to be. The dresses and scenery were beautiful though. I personally wouldn't recommend it, but maybe you'd like it. It depends what you like.

Saw it twice

I love Sophia Coppola's style and the movie was very enjoyable.... to a point.

It became way too long and dragged out and somewhere (about 3/4 of the way through) I started to feel like I needed a Ritalin smoothie to finish watching it and by the end i was left feeling a little confused. And it doesn't end with her end, so it still felt incomplete.

But great music score!
