becuase they are idiots that cannot get past the old no smoke without fire thing i was a victim of child abuse physical rather than sexual and i know that it was not my fault but i also have had to deal with people who just cant seem to get past the fact that there are people in the world who have there own motivations for for the cruelty they inflict and genarally it can be triggered by as little as having dark hair or in my case being born 'imperfect'

Hi,
I don't think a lot of people think this way...but nearly always the other way around. Perhaps you are thinking of how the victims always blames themselves? As this is common with child abuse..where the child feels somehow they deserved it or brought it on themselves and therefore feel ashamed and guilty. But it's never their fault, even though they may find it very hard to accept.

That's rather a sweeping statement and which, if you researched it, is just not true. ANYONE who blamed a child for their own abuse must be sick themselves and no better than the pervert abuser. Could it be that you have muddled this up with the fact the the CHILD is always given to believe he/she is to blame by the abuser? Most children do think it is them who has done something wrong or responsible for having it done to them - until they get older that is.

I actually haven't heard anyone voice that opinion. I think that's terribly wrong if people blame the child for the abuse. A child is innocent and has complete faith and trust in adults. They look to the adults in their life to guide them, love them and keep them safe. It is disgusting and evil to take advantage of that trust. No one in their right mind would put any of the blame on the child, ever!

Who are these people you speak of? If you've met them then I would suggest that you are mixing with the wrong people. I personally have never come across anyone who subscribed to the view that the victims of child abuse are at fault.

Because society likes to pretend that it never happened. Society is ashamed of itself as it didn't do enough to protect one of the most vulnerable people. Because the truth hurts and it is easier to blame the victims, because society needs to wake up and respect the right of the child and it has failed. Because society is in denial.

A lot of people? That is new to me. I have heard a lot of people say that abused women are at fault for continuing to put themselves in poor situations with bad people. But never heard anything like that about kids.

Because they are idiots. The adult is always responsible. The child is taught to trust adults. If the adult uses that trust to lure the child into sex--that adult is wrong. There are no legitimate arguments to be made for the other side. Even criminals in prison know that--they torture and kill child molesters.

Who in the world believes that? Anyone that abuses a child should pay a very heavy price.

Because we live in a sick, twisted and pervserse world where no one is accountable for their actions.

Our young people are to be protected and enjoyed for all they give to us adults, humour and entertainment and love I guess.

The minute that becomes something sexual then innocence is gone. THAT is not a childs thought when sex is not even on the menu for them. Abuse is something that only a sicko adult could dream up.
