yes, 316. Highest amount of Ni. this forms the Ni oxide that makes it resistant. Remember, it is stain LESS, not stain FREE

Monels, inconel, hastelloys used in military apps for both corrosion and very low CTE.

Like the first answer said, use a zinc sacrificial anode. tie all metals to it- galvanic corrosion does happen due to differences in electrochemical potential of different metals.

Got to confess, i don't know the answer to your question, only i cant imagine a quick search wont find that for you, only something a search wont tell you, is that what you don't know about, and thats the use of an Anode. Surprisingly these are used quite frequent in shipbuilding. Its a small plate you bolt to the underside of the hull and instead of the steel corroding, the anode corrodes first, you just replace it periodically.

Something else to search for now.

i use 316 with good results....
