I finally got around to reading his book. Can anyone tell me what the "incident" with Debra was that he wasnt allowed to talk about in the book??

On June 15, 2002, police were called to the residence of Debra and Austin in San Antonio, Texas. They found Debra bruised and hysterical. Austin had left the house and was asked by police not to return. On August 14, 2002, Austin was arrested and charged with domestic abuse. He pled no contest on November 25, 2002 and was given a year's probation, a $1,000 USD fine and ordered to carry out eighty hours of community service. In addition, he was banned from drinking alcoholic beer for a year, as alcohol was believed to be linked to his offence.
Austin filed for divorce on July 22, 2002, and the couple were legally divorced in 2003. Debra later auctioned her wedding ring on eBay, with a portion of the proceeds going to "SafePlace", a legal clinic which assists the victims of domestic abuse.

I haven't read the book, but I think he was refering to the "incident" in June 2002 when police were called by Debra claiming Steve had attacked her. Steve was gone by the time they arrived and saw that she had a welt under her left eye and bruises on her shoulder and back. She said she was reluctent to call because of her husbands celebrity status but said that things like this had happened before.

The infamous beating-up of Debra "incident".Austin got himself arrested in Aug 2002 for assaulting his wife & trying to evade arrest.TheSan antonio police did him for "Spousal assault" ie wife-beating.He was hit with a $1000 fine & community service.Even worse for him the bars in San Antonio were banned from serving him beer for year.Part of the deal with his book means he doesn't talk about it.

ive read the book aswell... apparently debra was found at her house by police all bruised up and claimed that austin abused her... whether her allegations were true or not has never really been discovered... austin served probation time for the offense but hasnt discussed it since

i only know a bit he was suppose to beaten her and was arrested hope that was a help!!!
