No, it is not. People who are in coaching business have created too much of hype about results of candidates who joined their coaching & got selected that everybody feels it is a must. Please ask these coaching centres that how many candidates have joined & what percentage of their students have qualified then you will come to know that around 20-25% of their students have qualified ,others have missed inspite of paying huge amounts of fee to these coaching centre. Vice-versa you check up the no. of people passing enterence test without coaching you will get the answer to your question

Have a look at iPerform from www.classteacher.com, with a course like that, you need not joing a coaching class. But you need to keep yourself motivated

No need, if u understand the concepts and basics during ur lower grade itself.
in the other case Even if u attend the classes, u cannot get much better results.
Read and understand line by line - ur text book, that is more than enough.

not really ... u can practise yourself.. loads of books available.. its an unnecessary expenditure... i stood first in an entrance exam without any coaching...

not realy.yet it depends on the way the teaches.on my opinion its beter to study by urself under the guide of a gud teacher.
