I am the best man in a wedding. The groom is wearing a traditional black tux, and i'm wearing a black suit. The groom is wearing a bow tie, and wants me to as well. Is it decent to wear a bow tie with a suit? or should i push for a tie?

He wants to get a theme going, it will be fine, bow ties are worn with suits as well as tuxes. It may also make him more comfortable.

get both and check yourself in the mirror. you should feel comfy and happy in what you're wearing otherwise you'll be worring bout your looks the whole wedding!
otherwise try the bow tie . . ?

I think that a normal tie would look better but it is his wedding. Do what you fell comfortable with.
