Sorry, but I already have a PS3. Why did you buy the PS3 if you were just going to resell it anyway? No one in the U.S. is going to give you anything in British pounds for a PS3 when they can go out to the store and buy it cheaper. The PS3 is in stock nearly everywhere and there are many unsold PS3's listed on Ebay still. My advice to you is to either return it or open it up and play it.
