When we were young in the early 1950s, we were trained to sing a patriotic song (Bengali) which had a line that India will soon occupy the seat/ position of the most respected/ greatest (Sheshtra) in the comunity of Nations. More than half a century has passed away. Maybe we did not sing the songs properly on the Independence Day. May be the songs will continue to be sung by the Indian school students of the 2050s when India may become the largest economy of the World primarily because of her population size, and continue to be poor country economically in terms of average per person income,

Niger is a landlocked Sub-Sahara African nation. It is considered by many standards to be the poorest nation in the world and a perfect example of a fourth-world country.
So, the answer to your question is - 100 Years after Niger becomes a Super Power, India will become a Super Power.
Have no doubt on this absolutely.

India is a vast country with mega problems.Sixty years after securing independence from Brittain, we have not abolished poverty, corruption, fanaticism, etc.
Just because we have succeeded in exploding a nuclear device and test fired few missiles, we cannot be catapulted into the region of super powers.
It is said that "where there is no vision, people perish!"
so our leaders keep forging beguiling slogans fron time to time. The latest gag is we will be a Super Power in 2025!
Let us wait till then.

Why do you want to be a superpower? Everybody seems to hate superpowers. As a superpower you have to help everybody else, and you get no thanks.
If you want to test some nuclear weapons to make yourself feel good, then that is your opinion. I would rather think having clean streets is a good first step in becoming a respected country
