Does it help in terms of pay, for example? This is a question for people in ENGLAND. Advice would be much appreciated.

hi,
I am working in a secondary school. I started with a BA, and now I am about to finish my MA. As far as the pay is concerned, a MA would not guarantee you a higher salary, however you'd have more chances to 'show off' and get a promotion...that would lead you to a better payment:)

in any case, it's professional development: whaever you learn, it stays with you! :)

A Masters in Education definitely helps if you want to go into a management role such as Deputy Head, Head - although obviously your teaching skills and ability are equally, if not more, important. You may also be able to use it as a negotiating tool if looking for a smaller promotion or pay rise.
