It is important the we love but it should be irrelevant to us if we are loved.
If we are truly loving to others then we will be loved. That is all that we need to do.

The love of family & friends is very important to me. It is also important that I love myself. I missed out on this fact until recently. Some people never realize it. The key to happiness and fulfillment is being able to love yourself. Until you can do that you have a hard time accepting love from anyone else or finding any satisfaction in your life.

Not at all... in the slightest.
I mean... people expecting me to be something I'm not is a righteous pain in the ar5e, but then people having expectations of me at all is more than I'd care for.
Certain people aid my position if they do care about me... but then if they didn't I would still manage to adapt.... so its importance is only relative to my intended plans. In any case, I'm not consciously changing myself for anyone... and neither am I pushing the point that I'm not: I do what I like and leave people to make their own decisions.

Not important at all.
I made the biggest mistake in my life for catering to my sentiments that my extended family didn't love me nor make me feel I belonged.
I learned from it and never to worry about anyone's feelings again.
It is important that my children loves me, this is all that matters to me.

It is extremely important to me that I am loved, because I feel my life isn't worth anything without love.

I guess it's important to some degree. But think about it, if you base your happiness on what other people think of you, then you'll never be happy because people change. I think it's most important to love yourself, be happy with yourself.

no man is an island. we are here to love and be loved, first by ourselves and second by others. first of all, we need to know, and accept, and learn to love ourselves. we cannot love others if we don't love ourselves first and others would not accept us if we don't learn to accept ourselves first.
second, we need to love others...our family, our friends, our neighbors.
loving and being loved are the essence of our being. without it we would perish. just as morrie said in the book "tuesdays with morrie", LOVE OR DIE.

"for just what you are nothing more nothing less?"
But what does this really mean? Can you do something that isn't "what you are"?
What is the less that could love me for but don't????
