yes Yiddish Theater is very much alive in America. One of the leading Yiddish theatrical groups is the Folksbeine Company (212) 213-2120 in New York City.

March 18th through April 1 (better hurry) they will be putting on " Di Yam Gazlonim" (Yiddish translation of Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates Of Penzance")

In April they will be having the Yiddish Film Festival, In May they will be examining the composers "From Vaudeville to Yiddish Theater"
