1. On phone -- not concentrating on hazards
2. Fiddling with text messages -- not looking at road, one hand on wheel
3. Answering Phone -- often looks down to answer/see who is calling
4. Affixing phone to handsfree device -- looks away from road
it is probably a good idea to look up statistics on the effect of using mobile phones while driving, and the amount of accidents that occur when the driver is using a mobile phone.
good luck...i hope you don't fail

The major reason for banning mobile phones in cars, is that a number of accidents are caused due to this. Either knowingly, or unknowingly, people turn their attention towards the mobile phone, and as a result, the accident rate only increases by the day.
That is, mobile phones are banned in cars, only because they act as a major distraction to the driver.

mobile phones should be banned in cars because:
1. the driver will have an accident if he/she will be using the mobile phone while driving... there are many scenarios like that, they were texting and not looking on the road so they can't see where they're going to, so they get bumped... or they're having a phone call and can't concentrate on their driving...
2. when the driver will put gasoline in the car, the mobile phone should be turned off... there are many drivers who don't turn off their mobile phones while filling up... and when there's an incoming text message or phone call while fillinf up the car, the mobile phone will explode, and that can lead to serious injuries...
3. mobile phones in the car can attract holduppers... like when you're using it in the car, and then they saw you're phone and got interested, they would start a plan on how to snatch you're phone like they will force you to get out of your car so they can get your phone... after they have gotten your phone, what if they just don't ley you slip-off... what if they hold you as a hostage because you may report to the police... so that can lead to danger also...

I think cell phones should be banned in cars because when people talk on the phone they get distracted and miss stop signs and traffic lights. Also, people don't pay attention to the cars and people around them on the phone, causing more accidents. Lastly, on the phone depending on who the person is, your talking to, your mood might change making you mad or sad. Therefore, you may jerk around, pass the speed limit orgo o slow...
BOTTOM LINE: Driving while you're on the phone is dangerous because you don't keep your eyes on the road!
