They were boss warriors back in the day... They have wonderful holiday places, the family I have in Germany owns a house in Greece and absolutely loves it. I hope to go there someday and enjoy the view.
What a fabulous country.

Been in Athens, did all the tourist things,at night went by taxi to a hill where tiny streets had hundreds of small bars and restaurants.Drank way to much ouzo:yummy.Drink it in Holland too.
Been on Rhodes,Crete and Kos too.
on the island rented scooters to go where no tourists were to be found.Met some people in small villages, they got some kids from school to do translation.Very very sweet of them.
I think they lead simple but hard lives there, but are content. For everything was time enough.
I loved it very much there:bought lots of music:yanni for instance.
I have fond memories of Greece
sky.

Your question would take me far too long to answer. But in short as a visitor,Greece has much to offer, over 1000 Islands from the busy to the quiet.Wonderful people, amazing food and fantastic prices. Then you have the Greek philosophers, their history, their culture, their language and the Olympic games to name but just a few.

I just know that the conditions there are perfect between Easter and mid-June - beaches and ancient sites are relatively uncrowded; public transport operates on close to full schedules; and accommodation is cheaper and easier to find than in the mid-June to end of August high season. And also that Greece boasts an unrivalled legacy.

Do they still ship all of the garbage out to sea and dump it?
I'm not sure if they stopped that before the Olympics was held there or not!
