Is Bali a good honeymoon spot? (in july).?

Question

Or should I just goto Thailand or anywhere else? What makes bali stand out, especially that Iheard that the beaches are very rocky and you can't swim there!

I have visited Bali twice since 2002. Firstly we stayed at Jayakarta Hotel. This resort has a big compound with 3 swimming pool and sea facing. Its near to shopping too.
Then last year we stayed at Swiss Bali Aga and this resort is even better. Its surrounded by local Balinese houses and very relaxing. With twin swimming pool and good massage and spa. Staffs are friendly and warmth.
They even have free shuttle to Bali Collection shopping centre which is also near the beach. A must visit while in Bali is Tanah Lot, where you could see beautiful sunset; visit the Kecak dance; see live voclano and have lunch there.
Too much to tell actually.

Bali is great....there is every type of beach you can imagine from swimming, surfing, snorkeling, diving anything.
Some beaches have large round rocks all the way to the water, some have white sand, some very fine white coral, some brownish sand. The weather is always beautiful and there are so many things to do:

Elephant Riding
All kinds of water sports including white water rafting
Tours of Temples
Monkey Forest
Ride push bikes down the mountain from volcano
Different areas specialising in arts, silver, markets
1 star to 5 star accommodation
1 star to 5 star shopping
Great people
Fantastic food
Waterfalls
Hire mopeds/motorbikes and see the whole place in 2 weeks.

The island of Bali is blessed with the line of beaches surrounding it.

Sanur.
On the southeastern side of Bali, Sanur beach is easily reachable from Denpasar, about a 5 to 10 minute drive. Sanur is an excellent site to watch the sun rises, as you jog along the white sandy beach. Being one of the first resort developed in Bali, Sanur maintains its traditions. Only a stone thrown away from the beach, ancient temples stand as solemn as they have been in centuries past.

Kuta and Legian
Practically on the opposite side of Sanur, the beaches of Kuta and Legian stretch on the southwestern side of Bali, again only about 5 to 10 minute drive from Denpasar or the airport. Surfing is a major activity in these beaches. Shops, Kecak dance performances, pubs, and other facilities make Kuta a tourist mecca.

Jimbaran
Jimbaran is directly south of the airport, on the way from Denpasar towards Nusa Dua. The village of Jimbaran is the narrow neck of the island of Bali, and thus it has two remarkably different beaches. On the west, Jimbaran Beach faces the Jimbaran Bay, recently lined by new luxurious resorts. On the east, the beach faces the body of water sheltered by Benoa Harbor.

Nusa Dua
Nusa Dua is a new luxurious resort area where the world's most sumptuous hotels gracefully integrate into the beautiful white beaches. Crystal clear water provides excellent snorkeling and diving site, and the waves on the northern and the southern part of Nusa Dua allow for great surfing opportunity.

Soka Beach
Further northwest from Denpasar, on the way to Gilimanuk, the ferry port town that connects Bali and Java, there is a small quiet beach called Soka Beach.

Medewi Beach
Continuing along the path towards Gilimanuk, near the village of Pulukan, the beach of Medewi is another beautiful beach.

Lovina Beach
Near the northern tip of the island of Bali lies a stretch of villages by the Bali Sea. Lovina Beach is the name. It is well known as an excellent site for sunset watching, snorkeling, and diving. Night life activities are also abound, as well as chartered boats to go out into the sea. If you like what Kuta offers but do not like the crowd, Lovina Beach is for you.

I've been around Thailand and to bali 5 times

There's a reason that bali consistently tops the conde nast travel destinations and has the worlds top rated hotels.

Kuta beach is long and sandy, the candedasa (sp?) coast has lots of sand too.

The people are great, Hindu - though they have changed over the years as the population has grown and muslims have moved there. The culture is fascinating, colorful, alive, and happy. The balinese have no word for paradise in their language - they're already there.

There is world class food to be found all over the island. We went to a restaraunt just outside of Ubud started by an ex-pat who worked with Thomas Keller and the Laundary. Gado Gado on the Kuta beach is fantastic too, along with the view.

There are a mess of rental villas there now if you want to go that way. There are a lot of very nice hotels that don't cost a lot of money.

Bali is a good place to get honey moon. July is holiday season in Indonesian school so Bali will get more crowded than usual. And the price will go higher too. Indonesian politic now is good too to take vacation. Have a beautiful honeymoon together...

Not all the beaches are rocky, and bali is beautiful to go to in July, only thing is there will be a lot of people there on Holiday. so i suggest you go to bali and stay in a private hotel away from sellers, that would be very romantic.

People who have commented here have already said a lot....so i wont but i have been to Bali 5 times in the last 2 years its fantastic and id definitely recommend it for a honeymoon. you can choose to be away in a quiet part of the island at a resort or in busy kuta. whatever your prefer.
