I was in Trafalgar Square at the weekend and commented to my friend that the lions have names. She had never heard this and when I got home, I could find no information on the net. Anyone know the names or have i dreamt the whole name thing??!!

This is a new one on me. Have you tried London Knowledge - it's a London Taxi site with loads of info on London. You should be able to contact them at their site. If anyone knows the names of the Lions of Trafalgar square, it will probably be a London cabbie.

Found a similar question on another site, to which the answers were "can't find any evidence". If there were names, they would almost certainly be on tourist websites, they love that sort of detail. Similar statues in other cities do have names, could that be what triggered your memory?

Might have names from the local workers, council cleaners, etc. But not officially.

Hi Ali,

They actually have two sets of names (depending on who you talk to):

Mick & Mack.

or,

George & Andrew.

Take your pick. Cheers.
