Generally, it's best to keep a fair amount of fuel in the tank. Most newer cars have the fuel pump in the tank, and the fuel actually serves to keep the fuel pump cooler, which makes it last much longer.
I generally deliberately run my car very low on fuel a couple of times a year, once in the late fall, and again when the weather gets warm. This tends to help remove any accumulated water and gunk from the tank. Otherwise, I usually refill my car when the fuel warning light comes on. At that point, I still have around 3 gallons (of 14) left.

Its better to fill up at around 1/4 tank, you should always have some gas in case of emergency.

At the present time, you better fill up as soon as you can affoird it, because of the rising gas prices. However, in general. I NEVER let my tank go below 3/4 full. Most people fill up at 1/4 full.

having a full or empty doesn't really stir up dirt in the tank any more than driving on a rough road. there is a strainer on the pump to filter out some crap that is in the tank. from there it goes to the gas filter for final filtering. always keep as much gas as possible. a pump run too low often or always near empty will fail and some models of cars we are talking 500$ alone for a modular pump plus labor

1/4 tank. That way you never have to worry about walking to a gas station with an empty can.
You never know you might have to make an emergency hospital run, so it is always safer to have enough gas in the car.

I heard the faster you fill it up the more you save, I mean if you has run 1/4 tank just go ahead and fill it up and so on, I have tried it and I think it works.

For real life purposes, you shouldn't be cruising on fumes. What if by the time you had to fill up you couldn't find an open gas station, or you discovered you'd accidentally left your wallet at home, or you got into an emergency that you wished you didn't have to find a gas station first before you could go to a hospital?

It is better to keep it full to reduce the possibility of condensation of water vapor in the tank. Pilots of small planes will always top off their tanks when they land for this very reason.

I'd say 1/4 because if you run it down to almost empty...if there is any dirt there it would pick it up

Riding on FUMES causes sediments to suck thru the filter. I'd fill 'er up if ya can afford it. I think I'm gonna go get the pig a harness to ride.
