I have a Dell Latitude D600 with XP Pro that was aqquired when my company bought out another one. The old IT guy can't be reached, and I have no clue as to the pasword to gain access. There are no reset disks, the guest account is inactive, and I have tried most all of the generic admin passwords I can think of.

How would I go about getting into this machine? I am not concerned about any data that may be on it, and just want to gain acces to start anew.

at the download section , download the first BootCd Image , burn it to a CD , start your computer and then you can reset the password for any account

i dont know if you are talking about bios password or XP password; if its bios password then follow the instruction supplied with the motherboard; it can be just a jumper settings to clear ur bios password; if its a XP password then you must install a new fresh copy as you dont have any sensitive data on it. You can also get some tools over the internet which can clear the password but thats not easy and free. I have one professional windows password cleaner i use to do this task. hope it helps.
