Good Question!
I have been studying Human Elephant Conflict for over a decade and do not have a definate answer yet!
The First step would definately be for the "MAN" to remain "HUMAN" and stop playing "GOD".

Most man animal conflicts can be solved by a swift kick in the nads! Of course if the animal your involved in a conflict with is a female, try the good old fashioned titty twister. Make sure of the sex of the animal before doing this, because giving a titty twister to a male only enrages them and kicking a female in the crotch gives them towering penis envy!

I did not know that in India you guys play football with animals? Wow! Well, OK, First, get into a crouched position. and be ready to run fast. Then, you grab your opponent ,....or whatever by the waist. Then,.......Oh, hi honey! Mi Amour Kat's just got back home.,..........WHAT?.......Why are you looking at me like that!?.........

I think we need not worry abt it. The almighty above, will surely intervene and do the needful for the poor dumb animals.
Meanwhile we shd be as good and kind as possible to them.
