I was amused of the fact that virtually everyone that previously answered a similar qustion claimed to be smarty than average.
Lets put the qustion in a slightly different context. Are you more intelligent than average. If so what is your reasoning for this or simply your IQ.

OK please forget I mentioned IQ. and focus on intelligence. Here is one definition.
capacity for learning, reasoning, understanding, and similar forms of mental activity; aptitude in grasping truths, relationships, facts, meanings, the faculty of understanding, etc.

It's amazing how many hi-IQed genuises are on here, hey! But I wonder why I never meet them IN REAL LIFE!!!!!
Any intelligent person would know that any claims to have an IQ of higher than 115 would be not taken seriously, including the Asker (which would obviously defeat the point of answering the question).
Truthfully I've taken an online test twice in my life. First time I was scored at 126 or something like that. A few days later I took it again for fun... scored 100. Now between those days I didn't get brain cancer or get hit on the head.
Now statistically the average Japanese person has an IQ of 115. Okay, that's proven. But now if these scores as said but these people on here were true, then America would have the top average IQs. Makes you think, eh?

Having a high IQ doesn't really make you a genius. It usually just means you have more efficient ways of processing information. Due to certain things that happen in the womb and during birth. I think I'm smarter then the average Joe at least when it comes to reasoning rationally even though that just mean I agree with myself haha. And because I live in America and the average Joe here is below average. I think I'm probably an average Joe on a global scale and context but at least here I'm more intelligent then most. And I’m an atheist which helps me see things more clearly since I don’t have a predetermined doctrine to follow but make my own. But again that’s just more egotism so in all reality I’m probably as normal as you and everyone else is.

I think that, I might know more than some people, in some subject or another, and I know less than people in other subjects. I guess that makes me average too. I don't think I'm brilliant, and I don't think I'm brain dead. I know what my IQ is and I'm comfortable with it, but I don't feel the need to flash the number around to prove how "smart" I am. Besides, I know people with very high IQs, who act like complete idiots 90% of the time.. So I guess IQs are kind of irrelevant

I have never taken a certified IQ test, but I did take one of the stupid ones online where you get your results and you can see the results of all of your friends. I was shocked to find out that, not only am I borderline genius, so are all of my friends.
There is no question in my mind that this test was inaccurate, but maybe these types of tests are the reason everyone thinks they are more intelligent than everyone else.

Mensa assessed my IQ at 174 which is in the highest 20% of the world's population...that makes me very worried indeed! I don't rate IQ tests highly.
I am aware that I am quite intelligent in certain fields that interest me but although I have achieved some academic success it has not been spectacular by any means, I think enthusiasm counts for a great deal more than IQ when it comes to achieving.

I have never been a "good" test taker because I psychoanalyze the question. According to Mensa, my intelligence quotient is 123. It is considered to be above average, but am not sure how they came to that conclusion. I personally believe that all humans are intelligent and excel in different areas. Einstein was considered to be a genius, but could not comb his hair---go figure?!

Everyone is "smarter than average." One person may be a genius in sports, another may be a genius with cooking. You may have someone that can recite MacBeth verbatim but cannot complete a Math problem. Every person is highly intellegent in some arena. So figuring out who is "smarter than average" depends on the area that you are trying to get the information.

My IQ last time I checked was 156. But it's known that really stupid people common-sense wise can have a high IQ. So IQ really isn't something to go off of.

I'd say I'm slightly more intelligent due to life and experiences. That adds wisdom with the years...
