There is a program called deepfreeze install it on all your clients and your server. No matter what happens virus, files deleted whatever, just reboot the computers and they are the way they were when you froze them. The only problem with this is if your users are using a programthat stores data on a server when you reboot their changes will be gone. There are ways to set up deepfreeze so it only locks the system files/network files and not data files. I have used this in a school setup before and the kids were horrible about screwing stuff up. After deepfreeze was installed no problemo. Good luck

some of the files means what type of files?

do they change settings? then just create a user with less priviledge, goto control panel - users - add a new user as restricted users ( Xp ) and also change ur administrator's password. don't give pwd like admin, 123456 etc. if they are deleting files then u can goto my computer right click on the drive goto property-security give userwise permission as per ur liking. if you have shared drives then instead of sharing the whole drive u can go for folder sharing.

if u are using domain concept u can control each and every move of user although i doubt u are using domain concept here. also i belive u are using xp.

u can also hide drives from users but that would need some idea about group policy.
