I teach Everyday Math and it's unbelievably hard for the average student. I do think it's good to revisit things previously learned, but it's also hard when it's done seemingly randomly, as is done in Everyday Math.

Only my best students in math can easily go back and forth, with the others I constantly have to reteach b/c the book doesn't spend enough time initially reinforcing the concept, so when we revisit it some students have forgotten it.

A spiral curriculum is one which keeps revisiting concepts previously taught/learned. The program "Everyday Math" is an example of one.
