Rabbits are spontaneous ovulators. This means that until they have mated, they do not release an egg. So no, female rabbits do not bleed as a dog would in heat, ever. You can tell when a doe will be more receptive to a buck (the equivelance of being "in heat") if her external genitalia are darker pink and more swollen than normal, but it's irrelevant because they can be bred at any time during their cycle.

Hope that helps you!

Rabbits do not have a menstrual cycle. They have an oestrus cycle. When humans are not impregnated, the uterine lining comes away in the process of a period. This does not occur in these animals. If they are not impregnated, they simply resorb the uterine lining

I think the stimulation of the male rabbit causes the female to ovulate. That is why they mate so furiously and so many times in succession.

rabbits are always in heat and the way I can prove this is I found new babies in the cage, it was so cold out I brought the mother and babies inside about 2 to 3 weeks inside I look in the cage and she had another litter! I called my husband in to look he thought I was crazy! but when he saw the new babies he knew I was telling the truth, but if a rabbit gets spooked she will kill all her babies, the next morning we had a bad thunderstorm and she killed all the new babies that she just had, I don't think they bleed like cats and dogs but they are always fertile.

No, not the way we do. If you put them in with a buck they will come into heat 24 hours later. Being around a buck stimulates them to mate.
