Looking to buy a laptop for general word processing, spreadsheets, surfing etc
I am considering the Acer Aspire 9301AWSMi Turion MK36 17" Laptop which is £499.97 from Tesco

Does anyone else have one, or recommend an alternative under £500 ?

Well Bloy

That is one good find that you have there, for £500 this laptop is near perfection. It has all the features required for you to surf online and complete basic tasks, and with one GB of Ram and an optional Dvd - rw drive, there is a change to get some games going as well.

Good audio and graphics cards and four usb ports, it's a winner in my books.

Words of warning though. Vista was not made to work very well on laptops. Try and switch back to xp and save some money. Vista it's self is not very good anyway.

All the best

Awesome machine with good graphics!

I bought a similar Acer a year ago and the quality is excellent.

Only gripe: USB ports on right side and front, but none on the back. Weird.

seems like a good deal. Also they are giving u the windows vista license. For a kind of usage u described, it is a good one.

Have u checked the weight of the notebook? Careful about the bulky one's.
