There are loads of other charities that do just as good work alleviating suffering and stuff all over the world, they're not self-serving. Charity does begin at home, and it's important to teach kids to remember why they're so much more fortunate than many starving and dying elsewhere. I spent 30 years in Africa, it's something I'll never ever foreget, or stop being grateful for, beginning with I am alive.

I think that there should be just ONE charity, who collects the money and then gives it out to the causes, there are too many charities nowadays, many trying to do the same thing - they are spending vast amounts of money on advertising, leaflets, shops, street hasslers, who stop you and try to get you to sign up with them, yet these 'sales' people, earn £8.00 an hour!!!! And if you look at when charities are advertising for staff, directors, marketing, press, publicity people - just look at the annual salaries that are being offered! It seems to me that a majority of charities exist to serve themselves!

You kind of have a one-track mind if you think that hunger is the only significant world problem.
And to respond to your second thought, your question is seen as an opinion because the way you ask it suggests a very specific mindset about the issue. Not all questions are seen as opinions, but this one obviously is.

its both really...charity begins at home for those who can't necessarily afford to make extravagant gestures meaning that at least their intention is there...and well if you can help solve issues globally that is great too. The important thing to remember is that your heart goes into it with good intention and that is all that should matter.

You think that is the ONLY problem in the world?
Also, do you think that charity is the best way to deal with food shortages?
