Definitely less people will travel to tourist havens like Haadyai, that's for sure. However, my main concern is how the Thai media is covering this issue.

As Muslims are already unfairly the target of bad publicity in the Western media, lets hope that the Thai media try not to link the issues in Southern Thailand, where it is basically Buddhist's getting shot at and vice versa, with their predominantly Muslim but peaceful Malaysian neighbours.

It is survival instict for Muslims from the Southern region to seek refuge from their kins in the neighbouring country. However, this must not be misunderstood as seeking political asylum. Peace to the world.

it's just sad that south thailand has to be in such difficult situation. i'm sure that thai government and negotiators are doing their best to restore peace over there.

as a malaysian, i could just hope that the disputes be settled and differences resolved soon coz its affecting our national security and economy as well. i'm glad that some of our officials offered themselves to be in the negotiating task force in efforts to find the best solution to the people of south thailand..

praying that peace will abound...

i think they probably don't feel any pinch about the issue in tahialnd. All they care about is not going to South Tahiland this period of time. Kl ppl probably don't even care less about this issues compared to malaysian up north that are worried the thai refugees are sneaking in and casuisng trouble. othe than that it's just a news in a paper.

I think we should mind our own business. Let Thailand resolve their own issues.
