Isn't this Prof. P.N. Oak the same one who proposed that Kabaah was a Shiva temple too? He comes up with wild theories.
One thing Oak never explains is the way so many chronicles begin to mention the Taj at the time of Shah Jahan, and how no one mentions anything about a Shiva Temple before this. The Taj is so massive, so sumptuous, that people needed to talk and write about it. If it had been in existence previous to its accepted historic incept date, as a temple, palace, or even as a supermarket for Pete's sake, somebody would have said: "Hey that's one honking great Shiva Temple they got down there in Agra!"
Besides, assuming that it was a shiva temple earlier, what next? Does it mean that we must destroy the beautiful monument and try to recover the old glory?
All the best...
:-)

The moghul history reads that, most of the emperors (except Akbar, Babur and very few others) are interested in destroying temples and other monuments related to the opponents glory.
Out of that kind, the Taj mahal built by shah jahan. First he has burried his wife Mumtaj in a place somewhere in the middle east India where he was engaged in a war. After about six months, he brought that to Agra and burried there. Later the building was constructed.

You are absolutely wrong. There was no temple at all. Whatever u r telling is all humbug. Prof. Oak was highly communal so much that he once said that Prophet Muhammed was a brahmin( naoozu billah). A third rate university only could make him a professor flouting UGC norms. When Oak floated his theory, The Illustrated Weekly of The Times of India publication immediately published a lengthy detailed article & refuted Oak beyond question. Try to get that article from archives. All details of construstion are available in Agra gazette. See historical details in history departments in prominent universities of U P including all four central universities. There are thusands of research theses to prove that Oak was wrong, mad & masterfraud, absolutely. Actual name of Mumtaz Mahal was Arjumand Bano & the famous name was her nick name . The actual name of 'Taj Mahal' was 'RAUZA-E-MUMTAZ MAHAL' but village based people were not able to pronounce the persian name, so , they started saying it 'TAJ MAHAL' as they could pronounce by mistake which became more popular & so, became its present name. Shahjahan not only built Taj Mahal, rather whole Agra of that time as the capital of India. For that all roads & footpaths were also made by strong & heavy red sandstones so nicely that by seeing their beauty the Britishers did not at all disturb the same. But after independence, to lay underground pipelines , for necessities of increasing population, those stones were removed after digging haphazardly. After that no engineer from entire country could do anything to replace them back to make the same exactly as they were before digging till today. This is our real culture. We are expert in vandalism , not in bettering. After the fall of Mughal empire, Marathas(Sindhias of Gwalior) & later Jats invaded Agra & caused heavy destructions to structures of Mughal period. Both removed all diamonds attached at every corners of joints of marble tiles which were shining beautifully at night in moonlight. The siver door with beautiful carvings was completely removed by Jats. Present bronze door was made by order of Viceroy with other repair works. There were two beautiful oval shaped marble lamps of very complicated miniaturised extremely beautiful carvings & inner hidden oil carrying thin tubes of very complicated shape of many rounds & turns such that oil poured in that from one end was coming out with a definite , accurate & regulated speed at the other end such that the lamp once lighted was continuously lighting. Lord Curzon tried his level best to replace that lamp by similar looking ones hiring so many experts from India, middle east & Turkey , but all combined together could not replicate them. Even then somehow two similar looking lamps(from outside) with carving not resembling even one hundredth part of original lamps could be made. Those two lamps dedicated to The Taj by the Viceroy too are missing since independence. Do you or Oak know anything about this ? By giving addresses of few web sites you cannot prove your false claim. It is much more important that what are the characters of the owners of those sites & similar books written by many ? Are they perfectly neutral & unbiased in giving judgements when in India even the judgements given by supreme court judges are found to be absured , trash , highly biased & communalised. Former chief justice Sri Ramaswamy was going to be impeached in parliament but for face saving(of country's prestige & supreme court), secretly heavy amount of money(bribe) was paid to make him resign to close the chapter( as reported in press). Biscuit king Rajan Pillay(only suspect & not really a criminal) was not granted bail & died in custody whereas much bigger criminal Sushil Sharma, accused in tandoor murder case was easily granted bail, Zahira Sheikh, a 15 year old girl's intelligence made mocery of Indian courts & nicely exposed their so called neutrality & non communalism , their third rate procedures & fully established extraordinrily high biases & cimmunalisms of worst quality of Gujarat High Court & state govt's high handed influences on that through supreme court orders. She should be given a big international award of extraordinary skill & intelligence of top order. Most of historians of Maharastra are not reliable b coz they r highly communal & fascistic as far as I've seen. I've seen highly biased , concocted & indoctrinated histories written by them shamelessly about so called Shivaji- Aurangzeb purely political tussle giving it a false communal & religious colour , completely overlooking that after Shivaji's death Aurangzeb issued pension order for Veermata Jeejabai Bhosle, giving high respect to Shivaji, b coz Islam prohibits speaking ill of dead personalities.
