The VIN number is the ultimate source, if you're willing to track down what it means. That is, unless someone before you had the car and put a different engine in it. That happens sometimes.

Sometimes on the cam shaft covers, it stated the size of the engine or other information.

Look on the inside of the driver's door, it should tell you the year and month of manufacture and possibly what you're looking for.

If you're seeking replacements, these are important things to know. However, some parts for different engines are interchangeable.

Example, if you're looking for an oil filter, cross-reference it to these different makes, chances are, they all take the same filter. The same would be true of certain other parts but not all.

Inside your glove box or on the spare tire cover there should be a white sticker with all kinds of codes on it. Those are all of the options for the vehicle and it will be on there. If you call the dealer they can tell you exactly where it is and what to look for. Hope I have been helpful.

i does not difficulty concerning the idle difficulty for now. quite, ask the owner if he will pay 0.5 your State's risk-free practices inspection fee (many times approximately $60 at a State inspection authorized storage) and additionally you pay the different 0.5 to work out if the motor vehicle will bypass the State inspection mandatory which you will sign in the motor vehicle, get license plates and force it on the line. the fee to place it on the line may well be lots extra desirable than your keen to pay.
