Well...
You can.
But you must remain chaste. That's what catholic teachings ask. They teach that catholics must be understanding and compassionate to gay people... but a good catholic gay must remain chaste.
So I say... If you want to be a gay catholic, cheers!!
Only a select few catholics really understand that being gay is not only lust... there are feelings involved and there is love.
They consider it morally depraved because they consider gay act just for lust's sake, just for pleasure.
Greetings!!!

Yes and no.
Yes, you can be Catholic and identify yourself as being gay.
No you may not act on your desires and remain Catholic.
The Catholic church recognizes a person who may have homosexual tendencies. However they ask that those people remain celibate, and chaste.
Catechism of the Catholic Church states: "Men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies . . . must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."
There is a sect of Catholic's who identify themselves as gay or lesbian. And they unfortunately do a disservice to themselves and to God by 'rationalizing' their behavior. Do not fall for that trap.
If you recognize, or identify yourself as a gay, many blessings to you and I as a Catholic will defend you with my last breath. However I will not defend behavior unbecoming for either a heterosexual or a homosexual.
Many blessings to you, sweetheart!

I'm Catholic and gay. I don't believe God hates anyone. He would not have created us gay if it were a sin, or just to hate us.

What has religion to do with your hair color or the color of your eyes or what time teh snow falls or anything for that matter. same way religion has nothing to do with one's sexuality. You can be Catholic and Gay.
