Yes that's right she did know about both for the last week. She doesn't work so she does have plenty of time to prepare for party. Cannot believe that she really intended coming to be honest. It's not the first time its happened and have doubt the friendship before. If she had let me know earlier I might of belived her but to let me know 15 mins before I just find it down right rude and selfish after all I had put out a spread to feed the 1000. I'll invite you all next time!

it sounds like she had no intention of really going. If she had too much to do for her daughters birthday party, surely she must have known this sooner than 15 mins before the night out! I would be quite annoyed!

You definately have a right to be frusterated, but don't be too upset. She probably really wanted to go. Sometimes people over plan themselves, and she probably thought she could get everything done for the party before this, and then go out with her friends. Most likely something went wrong, so she couldn't do both. At least she had the courtesy to let you know, however last minute it was.

If you want to ask her what went wrong, that's fine. You should decide if it's worth the trouble to confront her about it. If you do, expect her to be a little defensive, because she did give you an explaination in the text.

i would make plans with her and cancel at the last minute...make sure that it is something that she was really looking forward to doing and that she can't do without you...for example...by tickets to a concert, and tell her that you have an extra...cancel on her 15 minutes beforehand and take one of your other friends...tell her that you have too much to do the next day for your daughter's birthday, or your pet's if you don't have a daughter. Then make sure you *slip up* and tell her how good the concert was! I think she will get the message.

Find out if what she told you is a cover for the REAL explanation: maybe she made up the party story (her daughter's birthday is, after all, an annual event. It can't appear without notice.) because she is embarrassed and/or ashamed of the REAL reason. Give her the benefit of the doubt until you have reason to not do so.

she is a beatch. dump her. normal people don't do this. u do not cancel saturday night out 15 min prior of going out no matter what. unless u were hit by a car and both legs are broken. nothing else can be an excuse.

I guess it is quite hurtful, maybe she genuinely had something to do. If you are spiteful, next time you both have to meet give her a taste of her medicine and you cancel 15 mins before hand. She will never do it again when you have to meet up again.

Not much of a friend is she? It's not like an emergency came up or she had a really hard day at work! Stick with your other friends.

Unless it were a life or death emergency...I'd feel that they may not have the same idea of friendship that I had, and perhaps they weren't very much of a friend afterall.

Id be pretty peed off, its natural. But I wouldn't hold it against her. Is it typical of her to do this? If so, you prob half expected it anyways. Doesnt make it any less annoying though.
