What makes you want to get to know another person?

when they have something intriguing to talk about or have personal opinions about topics. Also a good personality and fun to be with is a bonus :P

I want to get to know people (guys or girls) who have a certain aura. Little things they do demonstrate their attitude and values.
For example, last year I found myself wanting to befriend a classmate who was generally quiet (like me), conscientious (she came to class early, always had her assignments, her writing was interesting and passionate), and she seemed ethical (turned the light off when leaving room, opened doors for people, helped me out, etc.). She also had a kind smile and looked at me while I was talking, asked about me, etc. I assumed she was sincere because when I would ask, "How are you doing?" she would tell me how she really felt and what she was really up to rather than just supplying the old pat answer "fine" or "lovely" (I like people being real).
I generally look for people who are intellectual, quiet but a good conversationalist, studious, friendly (have sincere smile, show concern), comfortable with themselves for the most part, ethical, low-key, a good listener, and have a passionate look in their eyes.
