For the same reason that so many people write "per say". They *hear* these expressions on television, but they don't read any books so they never *see* them written down.

I.e., most people are illiterate television-addicted morons.

Sad but true.

I guess it's because that's how "voila" (Wa-La)is pronounced So ppl probably just write what they hear!!!

It has become more phonetically, to be easy. Plus Americans are no longer as well educated in English as they used to be. Everybody uses spell check starting at age 5. No importance is put on using, or spelling language properly; just getting your point across as fast as possible.
Or Laziness.

Because they dont know that its french and cant do french, it annoys me as well!

ridiculous! that's not even how its pronounced. its ¨Vwa la.¨ people must be pronouncing it wrong, then spelling it wrong. yes, people are stupid.
