Knowing me this is a trick ? but I will try to answer the best I can for you. If I can recall (but I'm not sure) the Wizard says something like this "Therefore, by virtue of the authorityvested in me by the Universitatus Committeeatum e plurbis unum, I hereby confer upon you the honorary degree of Th.D.

Then the Scarecrow reacts and says "Th. D.?

Wizard "Dr. of Thinkology"

Scarecrow "The sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side. Oh joy rapture, I've got a brain!!!

So in theory though I believe he had a brain in the first place because all the wizard did was give him a diploma to have deeper thoughts, which brings me back to my point and that is the first thing he said in the movie was "That way is a very nice way" (with is arm extended and finger pointing right)

Well I gave it a shot.

He never got a brain!
Rather, the wizard gave him an honorary degree of Th.D.
Th. D meaning Dr. of Thinkology.

They first thing he says after receiving this goes something like this.

"Th.D.?"

"The sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side. Oh joy, rapture! I've got a brain!"

;)
