Depends.

How have/were they bred? Who raises and trains the Dragon? If left in a wild and free state, Dragons are a member of the system they were born into. Just like donkeys and mules can be mean and obstreperous, certain breeds of Dragon who are the results of crossbreeding can be likewise. But generally, the majority are intelligent caring beings who defend and protect their own. "Their own" not necessarily being specifically their own species. but also those with whom they have bonded.

It also depends on who/what raises and trains the Dragon and the strength or tenuousness of the bond the two partners have. It is not common, nor is it rare, that a Dragon can be trained to do harmful things for gain and greed. On rare occasions they can be manipulated to do things that are not for the overall good.

A full-grown Dragon in flight for the service of good is a magnificent sight, indeed, to see.

There are many different dragons in the world. So some are good, some are bad and some just are.

In Western mythology dragons symbolise power and greed. So they are bad.

In Chinese mythology they are powerful, but have a society just like ours, so they just are.

In Australian Aboriginal culture the rainbow serpent made the valleys and the mountains, so is good. Also the rainbow serpent can explain some important things about earthquakes, which we would normal explain by how waves propogate through a solid.

1st what aggylynn said is good
I'm only going to refer to wild Dragons
Depends on a lot of things first what resources you might be using I'm going off of personal opinion and a little bit of D&D reference because Im a crazy dragon almost-expert.
are they good or bad?
1. Yes and everywhere in between
2. They are as different as humans are.
3. and good or bad is only defined by opinion anyways what i think is good someone else might disagree

That's like asking if humans are good. Some are, some aren't. Cross a dragon, and you become french fries, help a dragon and it's a friendship. You can't lump all dragons together, just as you can't lump all humans together. It should be a individual case-by-case basis.

A debate, huh? Dragons don't actually exist, so there can't be any meaningful debate on the subject. In Europe, dragons were usually painted as cunning and evil, and post-Christianity were equated with demonic forces. In China and other Eastern cultures the dragon is a symbol of prosperity and fortune, and is often associated with elemental dieties. So I guess it depends who you ask.

Yes they are
In RPG's (role playing games) they have a good alignment
I reckon it's all down to what dragons are to each of us.
