by a single player it's Sanath Jayasuriya 11 against Pakistan in 1995/96.

By a team i'm not sure but i think it's South African against Australia or Australia against South Africa 18 in that match where they scored more than 400 runs for the 1st time

S..T. Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka and Shahid Afridi of Pakistan have hit most sixes in an ODI Innings. Both have hit 11 sixes each.

While Jayasuriya hit 11 sixes in an innings against Pakistan in 1995/96 at Singapore, Afridi hit 11 sixes against Sri Lanka at Nairobi in 1996/97.
