Distinguished is a synonym of distinct or distinction. Thus distinguished conveys the same meaning as that of the other two words. It means to note the difference or recognize the distinction between two things. It means to discern something. It also indicates to notice somebody’s salient features that make them different from others. It is the power of discrimination. Its Latin form is distinguere. It is pronounced as di-sting-gwish.
