He may be the best coach but I think a best coach must be a best all rounder so that he must know all the pros and cons of this game and he will be able to make strategy about fielding,batting and bowling.

Yes Kapil Dev is a very good choice as he is too experienced and led india to victory in the World cup.Only an Indian has an enormous feeling for his country to win and hence Kapil Dev will always want Indian team to achieve the victory .Also, he is friendly with the current team.
Moreover whatever he comments in the newspapers is quite apt and it shows his sense of discernment and judgment.
A former captain is a good coach.

Kapil Dev can be considered as a good coach for Indian Cricket as being an allrounder he is well conversant with the techniques of batting as well as bowling. Further due to his excellent performance during his playing time he will earn respect from the players.

If they want to win the world cup then yes Kapil Dev is a good choice. but if they want to carry on with their may i suggest a coaching team of azharuddin, prabharkar & jadeja.

Yes, A palyer who has captained the world cup winning knows the intricacies of playing and also the sentiments of the whole country.
He knows also how to motivate the players and to handle odd players and to take stern action for non players and play for the countries pride till the last moment.
Who else knows better than him in winning the cup?
