Lou and Kabini are correct. I work 3rd shift, and my bedroom faces south, so I get sunlight all day long while trying to sleep. I put up dark curtains and put aluminum foil on the windows, and at 11:30 in the morning, I close my window and draw the curtains, you can't see your hand in front of your face. It works great.

its so just a stage i think everyone wanted there room really dark at one point i myself painted the ceiling black, i would have done the walls to if i could have. Believe me dont do anything drastic the novelty wears off. Just put up loads of dark posters on the wall then it will look dark but when you get bored of it you can just take them down.

I constructed a 4 poster bed frame out of some 2x4's and 2-2x6's for me and my girlfriend, then I hung black sheets from the 2x4's that box in the top.
I work nights and my girlfriend works days, so with the 4 poster canopy bed we don't have to worry about turning on lights when the other is sleeping in our studio apartment

put all of ur furniture closer together ,ie away from the walls. and get lampshades instead of normal tubelights. Also if u have a table somewhere in the room put some cool , exotic ,etc stuff on it so peoples attention does not go towards the walls.

try thick dark curtains....really helps
my walls are a really boring beige...and i hav nice dark blue curtains...the moment i draw them...the room looks instantly dark...perfect for sleey time :D
if u live in a place with very hot weather (like i do)..try multiple curtains.but if u manage to get a thick but lite fabric (like jute or thick cotton) it will be best
colours like blue , purple will be super with the colours of ure walls..but chose only after matchin with ure room(since i dont know the shade of ure walls..and the rest of the decor)
try dark red if u like....it has a really cool effect
hope this helps..............

Put up dark curtains and posters or pictures, it should help take the glare away, or as much light from the reflection.
