Well, that depends.

I believe that public figures deserve a private life to an extent. What happens in their lives, who they're seeing etc. are all mere idle gossip. Do I need to know about Jessica Simpson's issues with her weight for example? Does it benefit me when I hear that Jennifer Aniston is dating Federline (if it is even true)?

However, if, say, a famous star who speaks for wholesome family values is having an affair, THEN you have something the public needs to know about.

In short, everyone deserves a private life but if they choose to stand for an issue, it is best if they can be transparent about it and not be hypocritical.

of course they have a right to a private life, instead of hassling movie stars and bands, get into the politicians.we should treat the stars etc as everyday people, greet them as we would greet anybody else they could say hallo and visa versa.to be treated as a normal individual,it would be fantastic for them.
