There most definitely is a future tense. English, being largely non-inflected, uses auxiliary verbs to indicate the future tense:

e.g. I _will_ fly to Mars; I _am going to_ make lasagna

But many other languages have specific verb endings to show the use of the future tense.

just say you will do something
other languages do have a future tense (some do)
