I wasn't born at the time (1982 for me) but I love his music very much as I was brought up on it. My dad is a big fan of Elvis and every year we have get together on the 8th January to remember him and also we have an Elvis night on when his birthday would have been on 16th August (which is 3 days before mine). I wish I would have had the opportunity to have been around when he was still alive...

It's weird but the day Elvis died I went into a record store and I was looking at Elvis' records. I was going to buy one of Elvis' records but I didn't. When I got home and turned on my TV set I learned that Elvis had died. I felt really sad over his death and wished that I would have bought his album. My very first little girl crush was on Elvis and loved him back then and I still love Elvis and his music.

I really don't remember, I was 11 but in the summer of 1977, I would have been concentrating on going into the second year comp. My brother liked Elvis so although I don't remember his reaction, he was probably quite upset.

I was driving down the road in Conn. and heard it on the radio, as I was breaking for a red light on that sunny day near the beach.

Sitting on my sofa in my living room watching TV...At the time, I lived in Springfield Mass. and Elvis was scheduled to appear in Springfield the following week and I was planning to go.
To think he was only 42...sad

I was at home and Mum told me. I was 9. She was very upset as she was a big fan. I carved the date in my jarrah window sill of my bedroom. So, it made an impression.
