Does the Bible say, its wrong to be Gay?

Friend,

The simple answer is that homosexuality is a sin.

However, the answer that follows the inevitable second question is this: God loves sinners. He loves us so much that He died for us to pay our debt of sin.

The other thing is that people judge others. We are not to do this. Only God is fit to judge us. If I say that homosexuality is worse than my own set of sins, I am a fool. I am ignoring the beam in my own eye and focusing on your speck of dust.

Sinners are not to be looked down upon. Rather, we who call ourselves Christians ought to reach out a hand of love, just as the Lord Jesus Christ's bloody nail-pierced hand reached out to us when we were still sinning in His face!

May God bless you.

It does indeed. Not in those actual words but yes it does have a story about two gay people in it.

I don't believe in the bible but I think if God did exist, he'd have been a forgiving and understanding sort of guy.

I think the bible has been written for sinister purposes and it isn't holy at all, it just controls those who believe it.

NO

200 years ago, some people quoted bits of the bible out of context to try to justify slavery. Today some people do the same mean trick to try to justify bigotry.

Ever notice that the bigots never quote Jesus? Hmmm.

The bible does not say it is wrong to be gay. It just talks about famalies and how a family is made up of a man and a woman.

Yes but don't let that stop you. It doesn't stop Bishops becoming Bishops, in fact it may even be a requirement now?.
No one in their right mind takes any notice of the Bible, any bible, just read the lot, you'll find one that meets your needs!

depends....
In leviticus is says that mankind laying with mankind is 'to'evah'

to'evah is translated in the KJV as 'abomination

to'evah is not used very often in the OT... one of the few other uses is where it describes eating shellfish as 'to'evah'

so, homosexuality is a sin equivalent to eating a shrimp cocktail

-edit-
as for the corinthians quote, most biblical scholars are agreed that the condemnation is against ritual temple (male) prostitutes, who were a common feature in Corinth

it doesnt say its wrong to be gay, but it refers that only a man and woman should have sex.

The Church love to misinterperate what the bible says so that the can suit thier own beliefs, homosexuality has been around far longer than the bible, although some would say life began around 6000 years ago.

unfortunately it does!!!!
and that was the one and only reason that made feel guilty for what i am for a long time, but if you thought about it, and realise the huge number (millions) of homosexuals out there.
I'd start thinking (are all of them sinners?)
but you know what, a person can judge to a certain extent weather something is right or wrong, they put rules, and as you might have noticed that some countries allowed homosexuality!
so..........

Yes, here are a couple of quotes

Corinthians 6:9
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,

Leviticus 18:22
Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

However the bible also states

"They waged war as god had commanded them and killed every male. But they kept the women as captives and took their wealth as spoil. Moses was enraged. 'So you spared the women? Kill every woman who has had sexual intercourse and kill every little boy, but keep the virgin girls for yourself. Divide them up evenly.'" Num. 31:7, 14

Leviticus 19:19 You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed with a different kind; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed; nor shall there come upon you a garment of cloth made of two kinds of fabric

(I hope those who quote the bible in justifying homophobia have checked their garment lables!)

"Slaves you may possess, but make sure they are foreigners. You may also make slaves of the natives who dwell among you and from their children who are born and reared in your land. You may own them as chattels and leave them to your sons as their heriditary property, making them slaves forever. But you should not lord it over your own countryman, your own kinsmen." Lev. 25:44

Mere words will not keep a slave in order. He may understand, but he will not respond. Pamper a slave and he will be ungrateful. A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, and a rod for the back of a fool." Proverbs

"When a man beats a slave so hard that he dies in a day or two, he shall not be punished, for the slave is his property." Ex. 21:20

I'm none to sure that each quote from the Bible is something that can or should be adhered to literally.
