Put the hot water and dye in a bucket (do not ever use your clothes washer of sink! unless you want them to stay that color and dye everything you own that same color for the next 5 loads). Always add a 1/8 cup of salt to the dye and water. This will lock in the color and give you a better result with less chance of spotting. It is also good to leave the fabric soaking longer than the instruction say to.
Always use the liquid ritt dye in the bottle. do not use the dry box as it does not dye evenly and it spots a lot!

Use Dylon in your washing machine. Gives very good instructions. Remember if dyeing old fabric that any stains will show through when dyed. Weight your fabric accurately.

Take your dye kit and fabric and put in washer. Be sure and wash and bleach your washer out after use so not to get any left over residue on other clothes.
