I have always tended to gravitate towards the Existentialist for some reason. Nietzsche and Sartre are probably my favorite.
I liked Nietzsche because his writings are so raw. He's incredibly complex. There are some in the realm of philosophy that seem to think he belongs in a category all his own.

Sartre I like a lot. His whole "existence precedes essence", we are born then we become thing really hits home for me. We choose our own paths in life and we are the only ones that are responsible for our actions, no one else.

My fave philosophers are the feminist ones,
Simone de Beauvoir, Iris Murdoch, Camille Paglia, I love these philosophers because they asserted a territory for womyn. These were Strong, and formidable womyn who founded the feminist movement and all its accomplishments

Jean Paul Sartre- a great writer and philosopher, with wonderfull conceptions regarding freedom and the human race! You never get bored when reading him! I like many other philosopers including Plato but I must confess that when reading him I got a little bored!!

Mine is Bertie Russell. He was not only capable of innovative theories of meaning and knowledge but could also write them out in clear language.

My second is Rene Descartes, an enormous mind trapped in a restrictive time.

My third (astonishing, ain't it?) is Thomas Aquinas. With his great intellect he tried so very hard to establish the beliefs that were everywhere around him, but he couldn't quite believe in them himself.

Schopenhauer: Buddhism for the west.
Strawson: Aristotle for the XX and XXI century.
Plato: great philosopher and great writer (two characteristics which rarely go together in philosophy)

Rene Descartes, Socrates/Plato

All made philosophy come alive in society, as well as making their own large, personal contributions.

Plato.
Mainly because I get what he's about.

Kant.
Mainly because I like how he puts it..though he's almost impossible to understand.

Kierkegaard
Just a hell of a speechwriter. Love his wordplay a lot.

Spinoza - because he was one of the rare few that lived his philosophy rather than just speaking of it.

Nietzsche - because he is crazy, and the crazy ones are always more fun.
